Reinstalling your Leaseweb VPS

With the reinstall option, you can install or re-install the operating system on your Leaseweb VPS. The installation is done using the Leaseweb installer.

This installer is capable of rapidly deploying the operating system of your choice from a template tuned for the best performance for your VPS.

Information

During reinstallation, all data on your server will be wiped and cannot be recovered. If you want to save any of the data, please backup before reinstalling.

To reinstall your VPS:

  1. Login to the Customer Portal and choose ‘Virtual Private Server’ -> ‘Leaseweb VPS’
  2. Click on a VPS and click on ‘Manage VPS’, to go to the management page
  3. Click ‘Reinstall’ on the top menu bar on the ‘Details’ page
  4. Choose an operating system and click ‘Submit’

  • Can I reinstall my Linux VPS with Windows?

    Leaseweb VPS only comes with Linux operating systems, Windows is not available at the moment.

     

     

  • Can I reinstall my VPS with a custom OS or different settings? 

    Your choice of OS is limited to the templates that Leaseweb offers, which contain settings optimised for the Leaseweb Public Cloud platform.
    As you get full root/administrator access you can still add or remove components or adjust and tune most settings after the template has been deployed and your OS is installed.

     

     

  • Can I reinstall my VPS using my own installation media?

    It is not possible to upload your own ISO for the installation of a VPS.
