Public Cloud instances are billed on a combined invoice for your account and per sales organization. The invoice can be different each month depending on your usage and what gets charged for that specific month accordingly. Please note that an invoice is created per sales organization (entity).
How instances are billed
There are two types of billing methods, regular hourly (on-demand) instances and Savings Plans.
- Hourly instances are billed at the start of the month for the consumed hours in the previous month (post paid).
- With Saving Plans, the user can commit to the usage of a fixed amount of resources at a discounted price. You can read how the Saving Plans work here.
Example 1
Example how an hourly instance is billed:
On January 20th, you launch an hourly on-demand instance.
The invoice on February 1st is created with the following invoice line:
- A fee for all billable components for the total amount of hours the instance was active from the moment of launch.
Example 2
Example how a Savings Plan is billed:
On January 20th, you launch a Savings Plan for a certain amount of resources on a 3 month contract and 1 month billing commitment.
The invoice on February 1st is created with the following invoice lines:
- A pro-rata fee for the resources from the 20th till the end of 31st of January
- A monthly fee for the resources for the entire month of February

Charged instance states
Billable components are charged from the moment of creation until they are destroyed. These include:
- Compute Instances
- Storage Volumes
- Public IPs
- Windows Licenses
- Load Balancer Instances
- Data Traffic
Please note that charges apply until the date the instance is terminated or deleted, even if in stopped state.
