Attaching ISO to Virtual Console - iLO 4

Leaseweb provides Remote Management for every Dedicated Server. As a customer, you are able to utilize Remote Management if you require access to your server outside of your server's public connection. Within these Remote Management pages, you are able to utilize a Remote Console, which provides a terminal to your server as if you connected a monitor to your server physically. A part of that functionality is attaching an ISO in order to boot from it. This page will provide an explanation on how to do so for the iLO 4 Remote Management software.

Mounting ISO using the .NET Framework

  1. Login to your server's Remote Management ILO4 site. This information can be found within your server's Detail page.

  2. Once you login, locate on the left hand site the menu entry that says Remote Console. When you click on it, you will have a drop down appear with another menu entry also named Remote Console. Select the Remote Console link that is below the first Remote Console Link.

  3.  On the page that appears on the right site of the browser, click the button Launch to utilize the .NET Integrated Remote Console.  After you click Launch, please click the Run button on the next pop up that appears.

This selection is for Windows systems only. For other operating systems, please see HTML5 Integrated Remote Console or Java Integrated Remote Console (Java IRC)

  4. Your iLO Integrated Remote Console will appear. To start mounting the ISO, select the menu option Virtual Drives at the top of the iLO Remote Console window. Within that menu, select Image File CD-ROM/DVD.

  5. This will open a Windows Explorer window. Browse to the location of  the ISO on your workstation, select it, and click Open.

  6. Your ISO is now mounted to the server's virtual DVD drive. You can continue with rebooting your server utilizing the Power Switch menu in the Integrated Console, and then selecting Reset.

Please be aware that selecting Reset halts your system and resets the software to go back to the POST process of the server. While being a quick method to reboot, possible issues may occur to the operating system already installed.

  7. Once the server reboots, please wait until the option to access the Boot Menu appears. Once it appears, press the corresponding key on your keyboard,

  8. You will be directed to a boot menu once the POST process completes. Click the appropriate key for One Time Boot to CD-ROM once the boot menu appears (in this example, it is key 1).
