Point-to-Point Connectivity Services

Point-to-Point Connectivity Services

Point-to-point connectivity services are data transport services between 2 Leaseweb data centers or network PoPs.

These services provide low latency connectivity that is reliable, secure, and cost effective. You can extend your private network across data centers without compromising on performance or security.

Point-to-Point Connectivity Services

Point-to-point connectivity services consist of:

  • Metro Ethernet service
  • Long-haul Ethernet service
  • Metro Wave service

Metro Ethernet Service

Metro Ethernet service is a protected point-to-point service using Leaseweb’s MPLS-based metro networks. This point-to-point connection can be used to connect 2 racks in 2 different data centers in the same metro area.

Location A Location B Bandwidth
AMS-01 <=> AMS-02 1Gbps

Long-Haul Ethernet Service

Long-haul Ethernet service is a protected point-to-point service using Leaseweb’s MPLS-based global network. This point-to-point connection can be used to connect 2 racks in 2 different data centers in 2 different metro areas.

Metro Wave Service

Metro Wave service is an optical path (protected or unprotected point-to-point services) using Leaseweb’s DWDM-based metro networks.This point-to-point connection can be used to connect 2 racks in 2 different data centers in the same metro area, providing higher bandwidth capacity then the Metro Ethernet service.

Check between which data centers and network PoPs you can use the Metro Wave service to connect your racks. This table also shows the bandwidth per data center that can be assigned to you.

Location A Location  B Bandwidth
AMS-01 <=>AMS-02 10Gbps

Guidelines for setting up Point-to-Point Connectivity Services

Cross connects are required in both data centers and are excluded from the point-to-point connectivity service price.

The network that will be created by point-to-point connectivity services should always be separate from the public network in each location.

Point-to-point connectivity services can be offered as a part of a total approved Leaseweb solution and not between network PoPs.
