Kubernetes Overview

Kubernetes Overview

Kubernetes is an open-source software solution that orchestrates container workloads and is designed to help manage microservices and containerized applications across a distributed cluster of computing nodes. One of its aims is to reduce the complexity of managing containerized workloads, through a number of key capabilities. Some of its main features include:

  • Provides load balancing and (auto)scaling
  • Eliminates a lot of the manual processes involved in deploying and scaling applications
  • High availability and health monitoring
  • Self-healing
  • Resource efficiency, running multiple applications on the same host
  • No vendor-lock-in, portable between different compute nodes, including hyperscaler clouds and bare metal.

Leaseweb Managed Kubernetes

Provision and deploy faster and more flexibly using Leaseweb Managed Kubernetes as your container orchestrator. This service lets you deploy Kubernetes clusters without having to look after the Kubernetes control plane. Therefore, it takes away the complexity of managing a Kubernetes orchestrator, which can be a complicated task in itself.

Fully Managed by Leaseweb

Leaseweb deploys, hosts, monitors and maintains all of the core Kubernetes components necessary for customer clusters and nodes, based on the highly available Leaseweb IaaS products.

Only pay for the Cloud resources

Enable a variety of workload types based on Leaseweb Cloud infrastructure. We manage the control plane free of charge. You pay for the underlying Cloud resources.
