Managing Apache CloudStack Domains

Description

A CloudStack domain is a customer unit that creates separation for your cloud environment's resources from other customers on the same infrastructure. The domain is used to configure your resource pool limits.

To add more resources you will need to upgrade your current Elastic Compute resource pool contract. This can be requested through the customer portal under your current Elastic Compute contract.

Viewing Domain limits

  1. From the left menu in the CloudStack panel, choose Domains and click Resources.
  2. All Domain limits will be shown in the overview.

Updating Resource Count for a Domain

When you update the resource count for a domain, it updates and displays the latest information of the actual usage of some resources. On updating the resource count, the updated information of your domain (such as the number of instances, accounts, and volumes) displays.

This page also displays the limits of your domain. If you request an upgrade/downgrade of your CloudStack infrastructure, it will display here.

  1. From the left menu in the CloudStack panel, choose Domains.
  2. Click Update resource count from the top left options in the Domains overview page.
  3. Confirm with OK.
