2-step verification

To increase the security of your account, it is possible to add an extra login step. With 2-step verification, you will have to enter a security code after your regular login. The 2-step verification code changes every minute. Without the code, you will not be to login.

Please make sure you also add fallback numbers or create the fallback tokens and print them in a safe place. If you loose your phone or have no other means to retrieve your 2-step verification code, the fallback tokens are a last resort to login to your account.

You can manage your 2-step verification settings by going to your profile page (https://profile.leaseweb.com) and following the link to 2-step verfication, or by going to the authentication dashboard directly (https://auth.leaseweb.com/dashboard).

Enabling 2-step verification

Perform the following steps to enable 2-step verification:

  1. Visit your Profile page (https://profile.leaseweb.com) and click 20step verification. Or visit the authentication dashboard (https://auth.leaseweb.com/dashboard).
  2. Click the "Enable" button.

  3. You have two verfication methods:
    • App: in this case you use an application on your phone to create the 2-step verification code. You can use applications like Google Authenticator.
    • SMS: in this case you will receive an SMS

It is advised to use the application method. Delivery of security codes via SMS depends heavily on your provider and might not always be working as expected.

To setup 2-step verification using the application method, click on the App icon. This requires a tool like Google Authenticator to create the security code. The process for the SMS method is the same, except you will receive an SMS instead of using an application.

Fallback tokens

Fallback tokens are a set of security tokens that don't change (unless you generate new ones). You can use each code only once. It is advised to create fallback tokens, print them and store them at a safe place.  To generate the tokens, simply click on "Generate tokens". You can view the tokens bij clicking on the "Show" icon. A list with 10 security tokens will be shown, with an button to print the tokens.
