# How to Submit Required TLD Information

Certain domain extensions require you to supply extra information before your registration can be completed. This information is collected in addition to your standard contact details. It depends on the domain extension, your location, and whether you are registering as a private individual or an organisation.

This article explains what is required for each supported domain extension.

 *Glossary*

A top-level domain (TLD) is the last part of a domain name, such as ".com" or ".org," and is used to classify domain names within the Domain Name System of the Internet.

## .IT - Italian Domains

To register a **.it** domain, the **registrant must be an Italian national or a national of any EU member state**. Two scenarios apply depending on whether you are registering as a person or an organisation:

### Private Individual (Person)

If you are registering as a private individual, then you must provide the following details:

| **Field** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Codice Fiscale | Your 16-character Italian tax code - This is mathematically linked to your name, gender, date of birth, and place of birth, and is validated against your contact details by the Italian registry |
| Accept Liability | You must confirm that you accept full legal responsibility for the domain registration |
| Consent to Data Processing | Consent for your personal data to be processed for the domain registration |
| Accept Terms and Conditions | Acceptance of the registry's Terms and Conditions |
| Consent to Publish Contact Details | Whether your contact information may be published in the public WHOIS. Defaults to not published if not provided |

### Organisation

If you are registering as an organisation, then you must provide the following details:

| --- | --- |
| VAT Number | The 11-digit Italian VAT number (Partita IVA) of the organisation |
| Consent to Publish Contact Details | Organisations must explicitly confirm whether their contact information may be published in the public WHOIS |
| Accept Liability | Confirmation that the organisation accepts full legal responsibility for the domain registration |
| Consent to Data Processing | Consent for personal data to be processed for the purposes of the domain registration |
| Accept Terms and Conditions | Acceptance of the registry's Terms and Conditions |

## .EU Domains

EU citizens registering a domain from outside the EU must provide the following details:

EU Citizen outside EU (Person)

| **Field** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Registrant Citizenship | EU member state of citizenship (e.g. NL, DE, FR). Required to establish eligibility for registrants residing outside the EU. |
| Registrant Language | Preferred language for communications with the registry (e.g. NL, EN, DE). |
