Events: CloudStack

Description

Events are generated when the user performs an action or when the state of a virtual resource is changed. Events can be used to track multiple tasks and failed jobs or processes. Events registers the time stamps of jobs or actions and could help identify the status of a job. The events are stored for 15 days. 


Deleting Events

Perform the following steps to delete multiple events:

  1. On the left panel, click Events.
    The Events page displays.
     
  2. Click Delete events.
    The Delete events dialog box displays. 
  3. Based on the criteria using which you want to delete events, enter the following information and click OK.


    Field NameDescription
    By event typeEnter the type of events that you want to delete. Examples: USER.LOGIN, USER.LOGOUT, VM.CREATE, VM.DESTROY, and so forth.
    By date (start)Enter the date from when you want to delete the events. Note: If you do not enter an end date, all event created from the start date to the last event generated will be deleted.
    By date (end)Enter the date until which you want to delete the events. Note: If you do not enter a start date, all events created until the end date will be deleted.

You can also delete individual events. Perform the following steps to delete an individual event:

  1. On the left panel, click Events.
    The Events page displays.
  2. Click the event that you want to delete.
    The Details tab displays.
  3. Click the Delete icon.
    A Confirmation dialog box displays. 
  4. Click Yes to delete the event.
